Tarwin Lower offers a relaxed lifestyle beside the broad, slow flowing Tarwin River.

Tarwin Lower is also home to the longest picnic table (seating 120 people!) which is positioned along the banks of the river. This tranquil and beautiful area also features a boardwalk, fishing platforms and a boat ramp.

History

Steeped in history, the riverside village was first settled in the 1840s.The Post Office opened on 1 February 1881 and Tarwin Lower is home to the disappearance of ‘The Lady of the Swamp’, a local mystery still unresolved today.
