Metung

Overview
Metung is a small village located near the tranquil waters of the Gippsland Lakes, sandy beaches and bushland.
Metung is situated between Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance on a thin peninsula of land that extends into Lake King. It's a jaunty sort of town, a community of people eager to fish and boat on the lakes ... in style. Metung is surrounded on three sides by water well serviced by a number of marinas and jetties and several cruise operators. .
Masses of bobbing boats and swaying masts, as far as the eye can see.
History
The Metung Hotel, which dates back to 1873, is situated within the town's commercial centre and has direct water frontage onto Bancroft Bay and the adjoining wharf.
